Air China could operate non-stop Chengdu-Frankfurt service in 2013

Air China Southwest branch company stated it is optimistic about the geographical advantage that Chengdu offers and is studying the European market with initial plans to launch Chengdu-Frankfurt non-stop service in 2013, according to a Zaobao report. Sichuan Provincial Airport Group market investment department general manager Hu Weidong stated Chengdu Airport, which opened its T2 earlier this month, launched its first all-cargo service to Europe in Paris in Apr-2012, followed by China's first Mumbai service in May-2012 and Vancouver service in Jun-2012, with a planned Melbourne service expected to open within the year.
