Air Anka applied to the US Department of Transportation for exemption authority and a foreign air carrier permit covering charter operations between Türkiye, the US and third countries.1 Air Anka also stated it planned to wet lease an A330 to United Nigeria from Jul-2026 for long haul services from Lagos, alongside its ongoing flyadeal wet lease activity.2 3 United Airlines separately asked the DoT to block the proposed Air Anka-United Nigeria wet lease, citing risks of "misidentification, misunderstanding and deception".4
