The acquisition of Tassili Airlines by Air Algérie was part of a national effort to enhance domestic air travel and improve connectivity, with the agreement signed between Air Algérie CEO Hamza Benhamouda and Sonatrach Holdings. Algeria's President had earlier outlined intentions to establish a national domestic carrier in Mar-2025 as part of this strategy1.
