AF 447 investigation to take another 18 months

French Bureau of Investigation and Analysis (BEA) stated it would take up to 18 months to fully investigate the crash of Air France Flight 447, which crashed into the Atlantic off the coast of Brazil in 01-Jun-2009 (AP, 31-Aug-2009). The agency requires "tens of millions" of euros to continue the search for the aircraft's flight recorders and analyse the cause of the accident. Airbus has offered to help fund the efforts, but the BEA requires more commitments.
