Aer Lingus approves major cost-cutting programme; 500 job cuts - reports

Aer Lingus' Board has approved an extensive, EUR130 million cost-cutting programme involving up to 500 job cuts (Irish Times, 03-Oct-2009). The remaining 3,900 staff are expected to be asked to take significant pay cuts. The proposals are expected to be announced by new CEO, Christoph Mueller, later this week.
