AENA reports combined 4% pax increase across network in Jul-2014, int'l pax up 4.2%
Spain's AENA reported (08-Aug-2014) an overall 4% year-on-year passenger increase across its network airports in Jul-2014 to 21.9 million passengers. This includes a 4.2% year-on-year increase in international passengers to 15.7 million during the month. Highlights include:
- Madrid sees sixth consecutive monthly passenger increase, up 4.8% year-on-year in Jul-2014, and highest monthly passengers in 22 months at 4.06 million;
- Barcelona surpasses four million passengers in one month for the first time;
- Alicante sets new monthly record with 1.2 million passengers in Jul-2014;
- Palma de Mallorca sets new monthly record with 3.4 million passengers in Jul-2014;
- Canary Islands airports see strong combined 7.9% year-on-year passenger increase;
