AdR joins The Climate Group's EP100 initiative, commits to +150% energy productivity by 2026

The Climate Group announced (21-May-2019) Aeroporti di Roma (AdR) became the first airport and first Italian company to join EP100, the organisation's global initiative on improving energy efficiency. The operator plans to increase its energy productivity 150% by 2026 compared with 2006, and has saved more than 220,000MWh from implementation of more than 300 energy efficiency projects since 2009. These include installation of more than 100,000 LED lights in its buildings, car parking sites and runways, revamping cleaning processes for equipment such as heat exchangers and air conditioning to increase efficiency and training more than 900 staff on energy waste reduction strategies during daily airport practices.
