ACI-Europe reports 5.4% rise in May-2010 pax

ACI-Europe reports (08-Jul-2010) the following traffic highlights in May-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: +5.4% year-on-year;
    • Group 1: +3.6%;
    • Group 2: +5.5%;
    • Group 3: +5.9%;
    • Group 4: +7.0%;
  • Cargo volume: +32.7%;
  • Aircraft movements: +1.5%. [more]

ACI-Europe: "Passenger traffic still remains more than 10% below May 2008. On top of that, the comparatively minor increase in aircraft movements shows that airlines are clearly focusing on yields recovery, while remaining hesitant about opening new passenger routes or increasing frequencies. There is still a lot of ground to make up, if we are to get back the passenger volumes we had before the global crisis," Olivier Jankovec, Director General ACI EUROPE.
