ACI EUROPE reports 3% increase in Nov-2011 pax, cargo down 5.5%

ACI EUROPE reported (07-Dec-2011) the following traffic highlights in Nov-2011:

  • Passenger traffic: +2.8% year-on-year;
  • Cargo volume: -5.5%;
  • Aircraft movements: -0.2%.

ACI EUROPE: "Since last summer, traffic at European airports has increasingly reflected the impact of the sovereign debt crises and the slowdown of the world economy. While full 2011 figures will remain positive for passenger traffic, the entrenched decrease for freight has already wiped out all previous growth for the year. Prospects for 2012 are worrisome, with passenger traffic decreasing in 13 national markets as of November compared to just four in September," Olivier Jankovec, director general. Company statement, 09-Jan-2012. [more - original PR]
