ACI Asia Pacific: Asia Pacific and Middle East airports report strong pax growth in Jun-2012
ACI Asia Pacific reported (16-Aug-2012) passenger numbers at Asia Pacific airports increased 7.7% year-on-year and increased 13.1% at Middle East airports in Jun-2012. For the first six months of 2012, Asia Pacific airports reported an 8.5% increase in passenger numbers while Middle Eastern airports outperformed other airports with a 13.2% growth rate. Beijing Capital again topped the list with the highest number of passenger throughput at 6.7% million in Jun-2012, followed by Tokyo Haneda and Jakarta. Cargo volume at Asia Pacific airports increased 1.7% in Jun-2012 after two consecutive month of decline while Middle Eastern airports reported a 9.2% increase in cargo volume. Hong Kong International Airport remained the largest airport in terms of cargo throughput during the month. Details are as follows:
