Japan’s MLITT granted conditional antitrust exemption approval for All Nippon Airways and Singapore Airlines’ JV covering Japan-Singapore and Japan links to Australia, India, Indonesia and Malaysia, with the carriers planning to seek similar exemptions elsewhere.1 Singapore’s CCCS later granted conditional approval for the cooperation, citing concerns about reduced competition on Singapore-Tokyo and imposing capacity, reporting and independent auditing requirements.2
