AAPA pax numbers up 7% in Jun-2013, cargo traffic down 2%

Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) reports (24-Jul-2013) the following international traffic highlights for its member airlines:

  • Jun-2013:
    • Passenger numbers: 18.3 million, +7.1% year-on-year;
    • Passenger traffic (RPKs): +5.7%;
    • Capacity (ASKs): +6.4%;
    • Passenger load factor: 79.6%, -0.5 ppt;
    • Cargo traffic (FTKs): -2.2%;
    • Cargo load factor: 66.2%, -1.7 ppts;
  • Six months ended Jun-2013:

AAPA: “Prospects for the second half of the year remain challenging, given the underlying uncertainty over the global economic outlook, but Asian airlines are still confident about future growth prospects and are continuing to invest in further route development and customer service initiatives,” Andrew Herdman, Director General.
