AAPA airlines report 16.9% rise in Feb-2010 pax numbers

Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) reports (25-Mar-2010) the following international traffic highlights for its member airlines in Feb-2010:

  • Passenger numbers: 14.2 million, +16.9% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 79.2%, +8.1 ppts;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): +29.8%. [more]

AAPA: "Following a positive start, we are cautiously optimistic about prospects for the coming year. The recovery in both passenger travel and air cargo demand is certainly welcome, but will need to be coupled with careful management of costs and available capacity, if airlines are to succeed in restoring profitability following two years of heavy financial losses," Mr. Andrew Herdman, AAPA Director General.
