AAPA airlines international pax up 4%, cargo traffic down 7% in Nov-2011

Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) reported (28-Dec-2011) the following international traffic highlights for its member airlines in Nov-2011:

  • Passenger numbers: 15.7 million, +4.0% year-on-year;
  • Passenger load factor: 74.4%, -1.7 ppt;
  • Cargo traffic (FTKs): -6.5%;
  • Cargo load factor: 64.9%, -4.1 ppts. [more - original PR]

AAPA: "Given unresolved concerns about the Eurozone debt crisis, and wider uncertainty about the global economic outlook for 2012, Asian carriers are bracing themselves for another tough year ahead. Nevertheless, the region's carriers are still relatively well placed to benefit from future growth opportunities, and the outlook for the longer term remains positive, as evidenced by fleet expansion plans and the establishment of new business ventures," Andrew Herdman, director general.
