A320neo with LEAP-1A engines receives EASA and FAA certification

Airbus announced (31-May-2016) the version of the A320neo powered by the CFM International LEAP-1A engine has received type certification from the EASA and the US FAA. Certification paves the way for delivery of the first A320neo equipped with the LEAP engine in mid-2016. Certification of the remaining aircraft variants with LEAP engines will follow in the coming months. In Feb-2016, the LEAP-1A was the first engine to power the A321neo, which is currently undergoing flight tests. Airbus reported the LEAP-1A is "performing exceptionally well in flight tests".
