18 Asian airlines have more than 50 aircraft on order through 2026: DVB

DVB MD Vicente Alava Pons, speaking at CAPA's Financing the Asian Aviation Revolution conference, stated (07-Sep-2012) there are 18 airlines with over 50 aircraft on order through 2026. Their cumulative deliveries through 2026 represent over 2000 aircraft. "We could argue are all of those aircraft going to be delivered? A substantial number, yes," Mr Alava Pons said. The Asian airlines with the five largest backlogs are Lion Air, AirAsia, IndiGo, China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines. Also in the top 10 is Kingfisher, but its order book is expected to be reduced.
