São Paulo Guarulhos Airport T3 construction begins

Brazil's São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport's Terminal 3 construction works commenced on 05-Sep-2012 and is expected to be ready by the opening of the FIFA World Cup in 2014, as reported by panrotas.com.br. The new terminal will add 34 new aircraft positions to the airport, have capacity for 12 million passengers and be equipped to handle A380s and Boeing 747-800s. The construction is part of Brazil's BRL2.6 billion (USD1.2 billion) investment in hosting the World Cup, which also includes a 250-room five-star airport hotel and airport bus terminal.
