Wellington Airport: Structural Steel Frame For Airport Hotel Goes Up

Direct News Source

26-Sep-2017 Following extensive groundwork - excavating the construction site, piling and pouring concrete foundations, the first sections of the 1000 ton structural steel frame for the Airport Rydges Hotel was put in place today.

The first sections of structural steel which form the frame of the hotel arrived on site on 25 September and contractors began erecting the main structure. Over the next few weeks steel will continue to arrive and as it's lifted into place the full height of the hotel will become clear. This part of the hotel build is a landmark point: now that the structure is emerging after months of preparation on the ground, the size and scale of the final development is coming into view.
