Virgin Australia Provides Alternative Holiday Options For Guests Booked To Travel To Denpasar (Bali)

Direct News Source

27-Nov-2017 Virgin Australia today announced that it is offering guests booked to travel to Denpasar (Bali) up until 4 December 2017, the option of switching to alternative holiday destinations as a result of the ongoing volcanic eruptions at Mount Agung. Guests that were travelling to Bali have the option change their travel itinerary within 30 days of their original travel date, with options including: Rebooking their flights to Bali to a later date;

Changing their flight booking to Nadi (Fiji) or Port Vila (Vanuatu), with no fare difference to be applied to the customer. Please note all changes are subject to availability and must be to the same fare type; or

Changing their flight booking to another destination within Virgin Australia's domestic or international network, with fare differences to be paid by the guest.

Virgin Australia will honour the value of original Denpasar airfares paid by guests for these new destinations and will also waive any change or cancellation fees.

If the value of the new airfare is less than the amount paid for the Denpasar airfare, the balance can be applied towards accommodation at any new destination via a booking with Virgin Australia Holidays (subject to availability), or kept in the guest's travel bank for use towards flights at another time.

Guests with travel booked from Australia to Denpasar between 25 November and 4 December 2017 are encouraged to monitor Virgin Australia's website and ensure their contact details are up to date in their travel itineraries.

For guests who choose to cancel their flight within this time period, they will receive a Travel Credit or will be able to switch holiday destinations for travel within 30 days of their original travel date, as well as purchase accommodation through Virgin Australia Holidays.

As flying conditions continue to be uncertain, we will be further assessing this situation and will provide regular updates in due course for the safety of our guests travelling to Bali from 4 December onwards.

We encourage guests booked via travel agents or third parties to speak to their booking agent directly for assistance.
