Virgin Australia Auckland - Apia Services

Direct News Source

30-Oct-2017 In September 2017, Virgin Australia announced plans to operate five return services per week from Auckland to Apia, up to two return services per week from Sydney to Apia, and up to two services per week from Brisbane to Apia, subject to regulatory approval.

Virgin Australia wishes to advise that the Samoan Government has denied authorisation of our scheduled services between Auckland and Apia. We are disappointed by this decision and at this stage are working in conjunction with the Australian Government to explore options to encourage the Samoan Government to reconsider its decision.

As such, flights between Auckland and Apia from 13 November 2017 onwards will not be operating and have been removed from sale. A Commercial Policy has been issued to assist you in handling affected guests.

Virgin Australia is renowned for bringing choice and competition to the aviation market and we want to continue to support Samoa and provide valuable tourism opportunities to the Samoan economy.

Virgin Australia's proposed direct flights between Brisbane, Sydney and Apia have been approved by the Samoan Government and these flights will commence on 13 November.

Unfortunately, this decision is out of our control but we would like to thank our guests and industry partners for their continued support, patience and understanding.
