V Air Launches Maiden Flight

17-Dec-2014 V Air is off the ground for the first time with its maiden service from Taipei to Bangkok. The carrier's first flight ZV005 took off from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 6:40 a.m. with a nearly full load of passengers. The route will be operated daily, using an Airbus A321 aircraft.

V Air's Chairman, Mr Vincent M. Lin and CEO, Ms Eleni Lung, were also onboard the flight to Bangkok after hosting a celebration ceremony in Taipei. The flight is estimated to arrive at Bangkok Don Muang Airport at 9:40 a.m.

In addition, the two winners who name V Air during a naming competition in March 2014 are also onboard the flight. They both commented: "We are thrilled to participating V Air's inauguration; this event makes us feeling like we are celebrating a birthday party of our own child."

V Air will also launch services to Chiang Mai, Thailand on 7 January, 2015. Currently, V Air has one Airbus A321 aircraft with 194 seats and expects to expand its fleet to a total 5 planes by 2015.
