Update on Melbourne services from 1-14 July 2020

Direct News Source

Due to recent Australian Government restrictions, Air New Zealand will not operate passenger services from Auckland to Melbourne from 1-14 July to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The Auckland to Melbourne schedule is open for sale for travel from 15 July 2020.

Please note: While international passengers are not eligible to arrive into Melbourne for the next two weeks, Air New Zealand will only operate outbound flights from Melbourne to Auckland as demand requires during this time.

Air New Zealand will rebook customers who are booked to fly from Auckland to Melbourne between 1-3 July and we ask that Travel Agents rebook customers who are booked to fly between 4-14 July 2020.

Customers affected by this cancellation who are booked on Air New Zealand ticket stock (086) have the flexibility as offered in the current COVID-19 Flexibility Policy found here or one of the options listed below:

Change flexibility. One change permitted with change fee waived, change permitted up to system range. No additional collection applies within the same cabin, same route on NZ operated flights. Travel involving OAL must be booked in the original booking class. All international tickets (including Australia) must be reissued by the original travel date or by 31 Aug 2020, whichever is earliest.

Hold ticket value in credit. The value must be used no later than 30 June 2021, regardless of when the ticket was issued. When rebooking, change fees will be waived as per the Flexibility Policy, additional collection and tax difference applies.
Normal refund rules and cancellation fees apply.

Customers who are booked to travel on these flights issued on other airline ticket stock are asked to refer to the original ticketing airline for rebooking options.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
