Up-to-date information of ANS CR to the development in Czech airspace
19-Apr-2010 Monday, April 20, 12:00 local time the provision of air operational services in Czech airspace was resumed.
In accordance with a decision of European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) ministers of transport in memeber states of European Union agreed on gradual and coordinational opening of european airspace depending on existing technical studies and incoming data available. The european airspace will be divided into 3 areas based on the amount of volcanic ash occurance.
- First area around the core of volcanic pollution with a flight ban, no safety guarantee.
- Second area with suitable conditions for air traffic although there are still marks of volcanic ash occurance and the warning remains in effect. It's up to the particular operation airline if the flight takes off as well as in case of other meteorological phenomenons. Flight crews will also inform the ANS centers about any non-standard situation/volcanic ash occurance.
- Third area without any occurance of volcanic ash with no limits for air operation.
Additional information and instructions for passengers from Prague airport are provided at the websites of the respective airlines.
