TIA: Tourism Infrastructure Fund applications open
Apr-2018 The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has opened second round applications for the Tourism Infrastructure Fund.
According to the MBIE website, the Tourism Infrastructure Fund "provides up to $25 million per year for the development of tourism-related infrastructure such as carparks, freedom camping facilities, sewerage and water works and transport projects."
It is available to councils and community organisations from all over the country who are seeking funding of $100,000 or greater for a project or series of projects, and is especially designed for communities with a high ratio of visitors to ratepayers.
Applications are due by Monday 14 May 2018. Go here for more information, here to read about projects that were granted funding in the last round, and here to apply.
Tourism Industry Aotearoa Chief Executive Chris Roberts is a member of the panel that advises the Minister of Tourism on applications.
