Suspension of services to Guangzhou and Shanghai from 5 February

As directed by the UAE authorities, Emirates will suspend flights to Guangzhou (CAN) and Shanghai (PVG) from Wednesday 5 February 2020, until further notice.

Our last flights to/from these destinations will be:

  • Dubai-Guangzhou: EK362 departing Tuesday 04 FEB
  • Guangzhou-Dubai: EK363 departing Wednesday 05 FEB
  • Dubai-Shanghai: EK304 departing Tuesday 04 FEB
  • Shanghai-Dubai: EK305 departing Wednesday 05 FEB

Customers with bookings on suspended flights will not be accepted for boarding at point of origin. Affected customers can refer to the rebooking and refund details below.

New requirements for passengers departing Beijing

Emirates will continue operations to/from Beijing (PEK) as scheduled. However, travellers will be subject to additional medical tests when departing PEK airport from 5 February, and should report to the airport 8 hours prior to their scheduled departure time.

Refund and rebooking options for mainland China and Hong Kong flights - updated 4 Feb

Customers booked to fly to/from Guangzhou or Shanghai from 05 Feb 2020-29 Feb 2020 (both dates inclusive) can contact their travel agent or Emirates office to refund their unused ticket, or choose to reroute their journey to/from Beijing (PEK) or Hong Kong (HKG). Any applicable change fee or fare difference will be waived. Outside of this travel period, normal refund and flight change charges will apply.

Customers are responsible for arranging their own surface transport from Beijing or Hong Kong to their final destination city.

Immigration restrictions

Please note that some countries have imposed immigration restrictions due to coronavirus. It is the customers responsibility to ensure they will be allowed entry to their destination and as this information is changing quickly, please do check relevant travel advisories before travelling. Customers who are unable to travel due to these immigration restrictions may rebook, reroute or request a refund.

To request a refund, customers who booked directly with Emirates can visit the Request Refund webpage and add "Refund request due to Coronavirus" in the comments section.

Customers who booked with a travel agent must contact them for a refund.
