Solomon Airlines has adjusted its regular domestic flight schedule following the Xmas and New Year period, to reflect post-peak season demand across the airline's network.

  • Monday to Friday scheduled services continue
  • Weekend charter and supplementary flights available in response to demand

Effective from 24 January, regular scheduled flights will continue to operate from Monday to Friday to all 23 Solomon Islands destinations served by the national carrier.

Scheduled services on Saturdays and Sundays will be paused during the off-peak months, with the airline confirming it would operate supplementary flights and special charters according to demand.

Colin Sigimanu, Commercial Manager for Solomon Airlines said the changes are prudent as peak season demand subsides and the airline closely manages operations to meet market demand.

"We have taken a decision to pause scheduled weekend flights for the next few months in accordance with travel patterns and demand, " Mr Sigimanu said.

"While weekend flights are not in the new timetable, we have capacity to schedule additional flights as needed, including on weekends, if special events or strong passenger travel trends emerge," he said.

"Currently we are assessing requirements for the months ahead including planning for the next peak period over Easter. We will release further information about those schedules in the not too distant future," he said.
