Solomon Airlines new flagship Airbus A320-200 Spirit of Solomons H4-SIB is poised to depart Townsville this evening en route to Brisbane to position for its first scheduled flight to Solomon Islands tomorrow, Saturday 07 March, 2020.

Following completion of painting and the installation of seating in Townsville, the aircraft is ready to leave left the Flying Colours Aviation aircraft hangar and ferry empty to Brisbane Airport.

It will operate its first commercial flight for Solomon Airlines as Flight IE715 departing from Brisbane International Airport at 9.00am.

The aircraft will fly from Brisbane direct to Munda in the Solomon Islands Western Province landing at 1.15pm local time. It will then re-depart from Munda to land in Honiara at 2:45pm where a VIP welcome ceremony will occur at Henderson International Airport.

The new aircraft offers two classes on board comprising 12 Business Class seats in a 2 x 2 configuration and 132 Economy Class seats in a 3 x 3 layout. It replaces Solomon Airlines previous A320, which entered service with the carrier in 2012.
