Singapore Airlines to Increase Services from Brisbane in 2024

Singapore Airlines (SIA) is continuing to increase services to Australia in 2024, with the announcement today that it will be introducing an additional four-times weekly service between Brisbane and Singapore from November 2024.

The additional services will see SIA operating 25 flights per week direct from Brisbane to Singapore and follows strong demand for the Airline's four times weekly supplementary flights across the 2023 end of year peak period, currently operating from the city through to 13 January 2024.

Operating on an Airbus A350-900 long haul aircraft, it will also see the Airline reach 99% of pre-Covid capacity Australia wide in another sign of the strength of international travel demand.

SIA's A350-900 long haul aircraft offers customers a choice of three cabin classes, with 42 fully flat Business Class seats, 24 leather upholstered seats in the Premium Economy cabin and 187 ergonomically designed Economy Class seats.

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President, Mr Louis Arul, said that the introduction of a fourth service from Brisbane would provide even more choice for Queenslanders looking to head abroad.

"It has been heartening to see the strong demand for travel to and from Brisbane. We are happy to deliver this additional frequency which provides another option for travelers to Singapore and beyond to cities in Europe and Asia."

"We are particularly pleased to be able to announce this scheduled service one year in advance, giving our Queensland customers more departure times to choose from to best meet their travel needs."

Brisbane Airport Chief Executive Officer, Gert-Jan de Graaff welcomed the strategic capacity boost.

"Singapore Airlines is critical to Queensland's connectivity to Europe. More recently it has come to play a key role in India's emergence as the 4th largest contributor of overseas visitors.

"When you think about it, 25 flights per week into Brisbane is quite incredible. That's 2600 services in and out of BNE each year, with the potential to move 787,800 people or fill Suncorp Stadium 15 times."

Queensland's Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said the additional flights delivered more opportunities for overseas visitors to enjoy Queensland.

"Singapore's aviation connections with 46 countries makes it a highly convenient, global hub for overseas holidaymakers visiting Queensland for our great lifestyle and world-class visitor destinations," Mr Hinchliffe said.

"That's why Queensland's Palaszczuk Government is supporting Singapore Airlines' non-stop flights to Brisbane through our nation leading $200 million Attracting Aviation Investment Fund.

"Singapore Airlines is delivering an extra 1200 seats a week to reunite international visitors with family and friends and celebrate the best festive season under the sun, in Queensland.

"These additional festive season services are part of our commitment to supporting Singapore Airlines' runway to growing more international flights to Queensland in 2024."

The additional SIA service will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from Brisbane to Singapore from 28 November 2024.

SQ265 will depart Singapore Changi Airport at 07:05 local time and arrive in Brisbane at 16:55.

The return flight, SQ266 will depart Brisbane at 18:10, and arrive in Singapore Changi Airport at 00:15 the next morning.

Tickets will be available for sale progressively from 10 December 2023 through SIA's various distribution channels.
