Customers travelling from Adelaide will soon have even more opportunity to tantalise their taste buds at 35,000 feet, with Singapore Airlines announcing the introduction of its popular Book the Cook service for the first time on its daily flight to Singapore.
Singapore Airlines currently offers the ‘Book the Cook’ service from more than 20 destinations across its global network including on flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane for Suites, First Class, Business Class and Premium Economy Class customers.
Book the Cook will provide customers the opportunity to pre-select a main meal from a wide selection of delicious options, including creations inspired by the Airline’s International Culinary Panel of world-renowned chefs.
The new service will be available to customers travelling to Singapore from Adelaide in Business Class from 20 November.
Options available on all flights from Adelaide to Singapore include:
Business Class
• Seared Tasmanian King Salmon with cauliflower puree
• Classic Lobster Thermidor
• Ale braised beef short rib with broccolini, baby carrots and mash
• Lamb shank Rendang with vegetables and steamed rice
Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President, Mr Tan Tiow Kor said the addition of Book the Cook on flights from Adelaide was further evidence of Singapore Airlines' commitment and investment in the South Australian market.
“We have been operating flights to Adelaide for the past 33 years and have continually looked at ways to enhance our customer’s travel experience,” Mr Tan said.
“Introducing Book the Cook for our Business Class customers will provide increased opportunity for them to personalise and enhance their travel experience.
“With 14 restaurant quality main meals to select from I am confident our customers will be able to find a dish to suit their appetite.”
Adelaide is the third new Australian destination to introduce Book the Cook this year, with Perth and Brisbane also launching the service to their Business Class and Premium Economy Class customers in September.  
The introduction of Book the Cook to Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide takes the number of cities customers can pre-select their main dish on Australia to Singapore flights on to five, with Sydney and Melbourne already offering the service.
Alpha Flight Services Executive Head Chef, Christian Parle, said the introduction of Book the Cook was a great opportunity for the culinary team to be involved in the development and delivery of such innovative local and international dishes.
“Alpha is excited to be a part of the enhanced culinary experience this will offer Singapore Airlines customers departing Adelaide,” Chef Parle said.
“It has been exciting to work closely with the local Singapore Airlines South Australia team carefully selecting dishes we believe will best suit our customers, this coupled with the team from Head Office in Singapore to create a new and exciting, high quality on board menu.”
Book the Cook is also available for flights departing Singapore, as well as for departures from a number of other destinations across the Airline’s network.
