Sapura Technics Receives Aircraft Maintenance Organisation Approval from CAAM

Sapura Technics  Sdn  Bhd, a new commercial aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul ("MRO") received its first provisional Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO) approval on 29th November 2019 from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), less than one year since the company was formed in Dec 2018. The approval allows the company to carry out aircraft maintenance activities to commercial airliners in Malaysia at its two (02) hangar facility in Johor, Malaysia.

The new MRO based in Senai Airport at the southern tip of Peninsular Malaysia will be engaging in the commercial MRO services providing heavy maintenance services for Boeing B737 series and Airbus A320 family. According to Sapura Technics, they will soon be pursuing the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and other South East Asian countries civil aviation authority approvals.

The MRO has been rigorously gearing up in the past months and will be ready with the full capabilities by the start of the new year. Being able to attain approval with its two-hangar facility coupled with its quick access to the nearby MRO ecosystem, Sapura Technics will continue to enhance and expand its capabilities ready for the ever-increasing demands in the region.

Sapura Technics is honored and thankful to CAAM for the grant of the initial approval and entrusting Sapura Technics to perform the highest standard of aircraft maintenance activities in line with CAAM's stringent regulations.
