Qatar Airways Reconfirms and Upsizes its Order to 50 of the larger A321neo ACF Aircraft, in an Order

Total deal is valued at $6.35 billion at list prices and represents a further commitment to the airline's growing fleet

Deal comes at the end of a year of celebrations as award-winning airline celebrates its twentieth anniversary

Qatar Airways will soon welcome the Airbus A350-1000 into its fleet as Global Launch Customer

Qatar Airways has reconfirmed and upsized its earlier order for 50 A320neo with a firm order instead for 50 of the larger A321neo ACF (Airbus Cabin Flex configuration), in an order signed today in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, and French President Mr. Emmanuel Macron. The order was signed by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, and Mr. Fabrice Brégier, Airbus Chief Operating Officer and President Commercial Aircraft during the French President's visit to Doha.

The selection of the largest member of Airbus' single family reflects the airline's need for efficiency and additional capacity. This updated order replaces the original one placed in 2011.

Joining Qatar Airways' fleet of 50 A320neo from 2019 onwards, the A321neo ACF will support the continuous development of Qatar Airways' global network leveraging from the A321neo range capability and the unprecedented customer experience. The total value of the deal is at $6.35 billion at list prices.

Qatar Airways is known for flying one of the youngest fleets in the sky and in 2015 welcomed the Airbus A350-900 into its fleet as Global Launch Customer. The airline will soon welcome the Airbus A350-1000, also as Global Launch Customer. The airline's modern fleet was one of the reasons passengers voted it as Skytrax Airline of the Year 2017, for the fourth time.

The A321 is the largest member of the A320 Family, seating up to 240 passengers. Incorporating the latest engines, aerodynamic advances, and cabin innovations, the A321neo offers a significant reduction in fuel consumption of at least 15 per cent per seat from day one and 20 per cent by 2020.

The A321neo ACF introduces new door and fuselage enhancements, allowing airlines to make better use of the cabin space and also provide provision for more underfloor fuel capacity for up to 4,000nm transatlantic range.

The A320neo Family incorporates the very latest technologies including new generation engines and Sharklets, which together deliver at least 15 per cent fuel savings at delivery and 20 per cent by 2020. With more than 5,200 orders received from 95 customers since its launch in 2010, the A320neo Family has captured some 60 per cent share of the market. Qatar Airways proudly flies the flag of the State of Qatar to more than 150 destinations worldwide, bringing people to Doha from every corner of the globe via the award-winning, state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport (HIA).

The national carrier of the State of Qatar is one of the fastest-growing airlines operating one of the youngest fleets in the world. Now in its 20th year of operations, Qatar Airways has a modern fleet of more than 200 aircraft flying to business and leisure destinations across six continents.

Qatar Airways will be adding flights to many more exciting destinations to its network throughout the remainder of this year and 2018, including St. Petersburg, Russia; Canberra, Australia; and Cardiff, UK, to name just a few.

أعلنت الخطوط الجوية القطرية تأكيدها لطلب شراء 50 طائرة من طراز إيرباص A321neo، فيما تعتبر الصفقة زيادة في الطاقة الاستيعابية حيث أن طائرات الإيرباص A321 تعد أكبر حجماً من طائرات الإيرباص A320. وأبرمت القطرية الاتفاقية لشراء الطائرات اليوم بحضور حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، والرئيس الفرنسي السيد إيمانويل ماكرون. ووقع الاتفاقية كل من سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية، و فابريس بريجر، الرئيس التنفيذي ورئيس الطائرات التجارية لشركة إيرباص، في مدينة الدوحة.

وتعكس هذه الطلبية لأكبر نوع من الطائرات ذات الممر الواحد حاجة الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر لطائرات تتسم بكفاءتها و سعتها، ولتنفيذ خططها التوسعية. وتأتي هذه الطلبية اليوم لتحل محل الطلبية السابقة التي سجلتها في عام 2011.

وستنضم الطائرات الجديدة لـ50 طائرة من طراز إيرباص A320ceo في الأسطول الآن بحلول العام 2019، حيث ستعزز طائرات الإيرباص A321neo من النمو المستمر لشبكة وجهات الناقلة القطرية بفضل ما يتسم به هذا النوع من الطائرات من حيث الكفاءة وتوفير تجربة لا تضاهى للمسافرين. وتبلغ القيمة الإجمالية لصفقة شراء الطائرات الجديدة 6.35 مليار دولار أمريكي.

من ناحيته، قال السيد فابريس بريجر، الرئيس التنفيذي ورئيس الطائرات التجارية لـ إيرباص: "لقد أسعدنا اختيار شركة طيران مميزة مثل الخطوط الجوية القطرية لطائرة الإيرباص A321neo لتكون ضمن أسطولها، حيث يعد هذا الأمر فخراً لأكبر نوع من طائرات إيرباص ذات الممر الواحد. وتؤكد طلبية الخطوط الجوية القطرية المكانة المرموقة لهذه الطائرة التي تعتبر واحدةً من الطائرات المتوسطة المميزة والمناسبة لسوق الشرق الأوسط. ونتطلع قدماً لرؤية طائرة إيرباص A321neo بألوان الخطوط الجوية القطرية والمساهمة في نجاحها وازدهارها".

وتشتهر الخطوط الجوية القطرية بتشغيلها واحداً من أحدث أساطيل الطائرات في العالم، حيث أصبحت في عام 2015 المشغل العالمي الأول لطائرة إيرباص A350-900. وسترحب الناقلة القطرية قريباً بطائرة إيرباص A350-1000 إلى أسطولها لتصبح المشغل العالمي الأول لهذه الطائرة أيضاً. ويعد أسطول القطرية واحداً من الأسباب التي قادتها للفوز بجائزة أفضل خطوط طيران في العالم لعام 2017 من سكاي تراكس للمرة الرابعة في تاريخها.

وطائرة إيرباص A321 هي النوع الأكبر في عائلة إيرباص A320، حيث تضم 240 مقعد، وتحتوي على أحدث أنواع المحركات والتصميم المميز والمقصورة المبتكرة؛ مما ينتج عنه توفير واضح في استهلاك الوقود بنسبة 15% عند تسليم أول طائرة و20 بالمئة بحلول عام 2020.

وتحتوي طائرة إيرباص A321neo على باب جديد وتحسينات على جسم الطائرة لتمكن شركات الطيران من استخدام أفضل لمساحة المقصورة وتوفير مساحة أكبر للوقود الذي يكفي لتشغيل الطائرة لمسافة 4000 ميل بحري.

والناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر هي واحدة من أسرع شركات الطيران نمواً في العالم، وتشغّل أسطولاً حديثاً من الطائرات يضم أكثر من 200 طائرة. وتزامناً مع احتفالاتها بمرور 20 عاماً على إطلاق عملياتها، تسيّر القطرية رحلاتها إلى وجهات العمل والسياحة في القارات الست.
