Qantas Customers Affected by Tropical Cyclone Debbie

27-Mar-2017 Tropical Cyclone Debbie is expected to continue moving towards the North Queensland coast during today and is forecasted to make landfall as a severe tropical cyclone between Townsville & Proserpine on the morning of Tuesday 28 March.

The following options are available to Qantas customers holding a valid ticket issued on/before 27 March 2017 for travel to/from Hamilton Island, Townsville, Proserpine or Mackay who are affected by the cyclone on/after Monday 27 March 2017 and on/before Wednesday 29 March 2017:

For customers holding a Qantas (081) issued ticket to/from Hamilton Island, Townsville, Proserpine or Mackay:

Passengers may, without fee:

• Rebook / reroute travel using an alternate Qantas flight with a 'QF' flight number operated by Qantas/QantasLink on/before 5 April 2017. If the same booking class is not available, the lowest booking class within the same cabin may be booked (e.g. within Business or Economy cabin).

• Change Destinations
The value of the existing ticket can be used towards the purchase of a new ticket. If the new fare is of a higher value than the existing ticketed fare, the fare difference is payable by the passenger. Applicable surcharges, fees and taxes may apply.

• Retain the value of the ticket in credit
Retain the value of the ticket in credit for future travel within 12 months from the original ticketed date of departure. If the new fare is of a higher value than the existing ticketed fare, the fare difference is payable by the passenger. Applicable ticket surcharges, fees and taxes may apply.

For customers holding a ticket issued by another carrier (non-081):

Passengers may, without fee:

• Rebook / reroute travel using an alternate Qantas flight with a 'QF' flight number operated by Qantas/QantasLink on/before 5 April 2017 in the same booking class as originally ticketed, subject to availability. If the same booking class is not available, the lowest booking class within the same cabin may be booked (e.g. within Business or Economy cabin).

Conditions
• All changes must be made on/before Wednesday 29 March 2017
• New travel dates must be within ticket validity.
Qantas will not be responsible for paying any other costs or expenses such as hotel or other ground operator fees arising due to events beyond our control, unless required by applicable laws.
• All other rules and conditions of the ticket remain unchanged.
• Customers are permitted to make changes as outlined in this policy. Any subsequent changes made after the ticket is reissued will be subject to the rules and conditions of the original ticketed fare purchased.

For customers with unticketed bookings:

For unticketed bookings, alternate flights/routings can be rebooked subject to availability and tickets issued in accordance with fare conditions.

For customers on Frequent Flyer Award Tickets:

Passengers who are travelling on Qantas & Jetstar Points Plus Pay tickets are entitled to the same options and conditions as listed above.

Passengers who are travelling on Qantas & Partner Classic Flight Reward tickets are entitled to the same options and conditions as listed above provided any travel rebooked or rerouted is made on an eligible Qantas Frequent Flyer Partner Airline and any travel booked on a partner airline is subject to reward seat availability. Classic Flight Reward tickets cannot be retained in credit.

Please note, any changes to bookings in redemption classes must be made in the same class as the original booking.

Ticket Reissue:

All Qantas flight changes need to be actioned (re-issued or revalidated) prior to travel, regardless of which airline the ticket is validated to.

For customers holding a Qantas (081) issued ticket to/from Hamilton Island, Townsville, Proserpine or Mackay:

Rebook / reroute travel
• The agent can reissue the ticket in-house if validated to Qantas (081)
• Ticket to be reissued with no additional collection or refund
• Additional fare, ticket taxes and change fees associated to the ticket do not apply
• All details of the original ticket to be shown on the new ticket including fare basis and fare calculation
• Authority number '462036' must be entered into the endorsement box to avoid ADM
• For tickets validated to another carrier, please contact the Qantas Industry Centre for ticketing.

Change Destinations/Ticket in credit
• The Agent can reissue the ticket in-house if validated to Qantas (081)
• Additional fare and ticket taxes may apply subject to assessment of the new journey
• If the new fare is of a higher value than the existing ticketed fare, the fare difference is payable by the passenger. Applicable ticket taxes apply.
• Authority number '462036' must be entered into the endorsement box to waive the fee for voluntary changes and avoid ADM.
• For tickets validated to another carrier, please contact the Qantas Industry Centre for ticketing.
