Perth to Auckland services to be operated by Wamos Air

With the busy summer holiday period fast approaching, Air New Zealand is partnering with leading charter airline Wamos Air to get customers to where they need to be.

For travel between 15 November 2022 and 16 February 2023, Wamos Air will operate daily return flights between Perth and Auckland on behalf of Air New Zealand to provide schedule stability and certainty for our customers over this period. 

We know customers look forward to our world-renowned service and will miss seeing the Koru on the aircraft tail, so we’ve carefully considered how to best maintain connectivity and maintain a high service standard. Wamos Air is a proven and trusted provider, and we’re confident they will deliver to our high standards of customer care. 

All customers on these flights, regardless of fare purchased, will be offered our Air New Zealand meal and beverages service and enjoy Inflight Entertainment. 

What can customers expect:

  • A modern 280-seat A330-200 aircraft, flying daily services between Perth and Auckland from 15 November 2022 to 16 February 2023.
  • The same friendly Air New Zealand customer service agents at the Airport check-in and gate.
  • A two-class configuration of 20 lie-flat Business Premier™ seats and 260 Economy seats.
  • A full Air New Zealand meal and beverage service in all cabins.
  • The ability to request a full refund or put their airfare into credit if they no longer wish to travel during this period.

The above flights will be loaded into the GDS and the following will apply: 

  • New bookings will receive a comment at the time of booking that shows ‘OPERATED BY WAMOS AIR ON BEHALF OF AIRNZ’.  
  • An SSR will be generated for all existing GDS bookings, this will read ‘OPERATED BY WAMOS AIR ON BEHALF OF AIRNZ’.  

  • PNRs will be updated with a UN/TK status in the GDS with new flight numbers, including downgrades from Premium Economy to theworks if applicable. 

  • There will be no change to customers' tickets who hold an existing seat or seat+bag fare. These customers will automatically receive our full meal service, including beverages and Inflight Entertainment. 

Voluntary changes

If you have existing seat or seat+bag customers with tickets issued before 20 October 2022 wishing to make a date change, please contact Agency Sales Support for options.

There will also be flexibility and compensation options available for customers who choose not to fly with Wamos Air during this period. These can be found on our agent website here.

The schedule updates will be rolled out to the GDS today. Please ensure you check your queues and advise customers accordingly.
