25-Jan-2018 Aviation Australia today announced changes to the Company's Board of Directors.

Mr Ashley Kilroy, Board Chair, warmly welcomed Ms Annabel Dolphin, Mr Peter Dowling and Mr Brent Kinnane to Aviation Australia's Board.

The three new members are replacing the outgoing directors, Ms Julie-Anne Schafer, Mr Michael Gilmour and Mr Terry Brown, all of whom Mr Kilroy said, "made significant contributions during their tenure."

Mr Kilroy highlighted that "the new Board includes a strong, experienced group who are passionate about vocational education and I look forward to working with them. The Board will ensure that Aviation Australia will continue to deliver quality training to the aviation industry in accordance with the company's regulatory approvals."

The Aviation Australia board is comprised of the following members:

  • Mr Ashley Kilroy - experienced company director with significant background in the aviation sector at board and executive levels, and continuing Chair of Aviation Australia;
  • Ms Annabel Dolphin - experienced company director and Chair of the TAFE Queensland board;
  • Mr Peter Dowling AM - accountant, experienced company director and member of the TAFE Queensland board; and
  • Mr Brent Kinnane - current executive of TAFE Queensland with over 15 years of experience in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

Aviation Australia became a subsidiary of TAFE Queensland effective 1 October 2017, an arrangement which will allow Aviation Australia to leverage the size and experience of TAFE Queensland as the state's largest and most experienced training provider. The arrangement provides enhanced ability for the Company to respond to the current and impending skill shortage, both locally and overseas, by creating a stronger public provider with the airworthiness approvals, scope and industry understanding to deliver whole-of-enterprise workforce solutions for the aviation and aerospace industry.
