Melbourne Airport welcomes Jetstar’s direct Honolulu service

01-Aug-2012 More Victorians will be saying 'Aloha!' as they step off their direct flight from Melbourne to Honolulu when Jetstar reintroduces direct services from December.

Melbourne Airport CEO, Chris Woodruff, said the new flights offered Victorians and other passengers from across south-eastern Australia more choice for their international travel.

"Hawaii is a popular destination for Australian visitors as well as an important trading hub and gateway to the United States and greater Asia Pacific region."

Jetstar's direct flights from Melbourne to Honolulu will operate twice a week from 15 December 2012, increasing to three flights a week in the peak from 29 March 2013.

Jetstar is also increasing its Melbourne to Bali services to daily from 15 December.

"Our curfew-free status and single terminal precinct make Melbourne the ideal international gateway for Australian travellers and visitors from overseas," Mr Woodruff said.

"We will continue to work with government, industry and our airline customers to attract new services and additional capacity to Melbourne and provide more travelling options for our passengers."

Jetstar also flies daily to Singapore, Beijing, Auckland and Christchurch; and to Bangkok and Queenstown three times a week.
