Latest SOP Relaxation Will Further Spur Air Travel Recovery

Malaysia Airports welcomes the government's latest decision in relaxing various health safety SOPs that will take effect from 1 May 2022. Following the reopening of our country's borders on 1 April 2022, this latest move will ease the travelling experience of passengers entering Malaysia and this is expected to further contribute towards the speed of recovery of air travel.

Managing Director of Malaysia Airports, Dato' Iskandar Mizal Mahmood thanks the government for the strategic move which is in tandem with practices in many other countries and will certainly hasten economic recovery, 'Based on the feedback we received from passengers travelling through our airports since border reopening, we are confident that passengers now will be more encouraged to travel to Malaysia. Apart from reducing the hassle, this latest move will also incur less expenses as COVID-19 tests are no longer required for fully vaccinated travellers and insurance are no longer necessary. As the airport operator, we are still committed in ensuring a safe airport environment and we will continue to implement measures such as frequent sanitisation so that passengers can have a safe and seamless travel experience."

With the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, Malaysia Airports is expecting increased passenger traffic movements at all its airports and would like to remind all guests to continue practising good health safety habits for the benefit of all.
