ILFC to lease two additional B787-8’s to Aeromexico
28-Mar-2012 International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG), announced today it has completed an agreement to expand its partnership with Grupo Aeromexico (Mexico: AEROMEX.MX) by adding two additional new Boeing 787-8 aircraft bringing the total leased from ILFC to five.
\"The addition of these two Boeing 787 aircraft to our current fleet of five, two that we ordered from Boeing and three previously leased from ILFC is great news for Grupo Aeroméxico; it is part of our expansion plan to service all our international markets. These aircraft will be deployed on our long-haul routes, ultimately replacing our 767 aircraft and allowing us to continue providing quality service while proudly representing Mexico worldwide,\" said Andres Conesa, CEO of Grupo Aeroméxico.
ILFC Chief Executive Officer Henri Courpron commented, "Aeromexico was ILFC's first customer. We appreciate their confidence in ILFC over the last 38 years. This new transaction is a symbol of the important strategic partnership between Aeromexico and ILFC."
The aircraft, equipped with GEnx engines, are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2014.
