Icelandair: Traffic Data July 2018

The number of passengers on Icelandair flights were 519 thousand in July and decreased by 5% compared to July last year. The capacity measured in available seat kilometres (ASK) increased by 2%. The number of available seats (AS) decreased by 3%. The difference is more capacity to N-America between years resulting in 5% higher average stage length in kilometres between years. The load factor was 85.3% compared to 89.2% in July last year. In July there is similar development as in second quarter. Sales to destinations in North-America has not been in line with increased capacity while sales to Europe have been strong. Load factors on Icelandair´s routes in Europe were 90.7%, an increase of 2.9 percentage points from last year while load factors to North America were 81.9%, a decrease of 8.9 percentage points from last year. The number of passengers travelling from Iceland and on the tourist market to Iceland increased between years, but passengers on the N-Atlantic market decreased compared to last year.
