Hurricane Olivia Flexibility Policy

Direct News Source

The following flexibility applies to all customers ticketed to travel to or from Honolulu prior to Sunday 09 September to travel to/from Honolulu up to and including Wednesday 12 September. This information relates specifically to tickets issued on Air New Zealand 086 ticket stock.

Bring Forward/Defer Travel

  • Move travel to an earlier or later Air New Zealand flight in the same cabin class of travel before Wednesday, 19 September without fare difference, penalty or service fees. If travel is only available in a higher cabin class, any fare differential will apply.
  • If you are not sure as to when you would like to travel, we are able to hold the value of your ticket in credit for payment towards travel within the same 12-month validity. In this instance, the change fee and service fee will be waived, however, any fare difference will apply when re-booking.

Refund

  • If you no longer wish to travel to or from Honolulu, normal refund rules apply as per the fare conditions of your ticket. You can view your fare rules under the 'Manage Booking' section of our website.

Travel As Planned

  • Due to the nature of Hurricane Olivia, Air New Zealand services, as well as onward travel from Honolulu could be further disrupted at any point. Air New Zealand will not be liable for any costs associated with disrupted travel should you choose to travel as planned.

Incidental Costs

  • Any incidental and associated costs such as accommodation and/or meals are not the responsibility of Air New Zealand, and you will need to refer to your travel insurance policy.

Air New Zealand will continue to monitor the situation and advise any changes to these guidelines accordingly.
