Harper government promotes Canadian jobs, reciprocity and fairness in the air industry

06-Sep-2013 The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport, today unveiled a new policy to promote Canadian employment and limit wet-leasing in the air industry. Wet-leasing occurs when one airline agrees to provide an aircraft and crew to another airline for the operation of the latter's air service. Last year, two Canadian airlines used wet-leasing arrangements with foreign carriers.
