Frontier Airlines Announces More New Flights At Orlando International Airport
Frontier Airlines continues to further expand its flight schedule at Orlando International Airport (MCO). The Denver-based carrier has announced three more domestic routes from Central Florida. Starting in August, non-stop service will be available to Harrisburg, PA; Syracuse, NY; and Portland, ME. These latest additions bring the total number of markets served by Frontier to 36, giving the carrier the second largest route network at MCO.
“Increased travel options to the most-visited destination in the U.S. are fueling the record-setting growth at Orlando International Airport,” said Phil Brown, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority Chief Executive Officer. “When dynamic airline partners like Frontier offer our customers broader choices for business and leisure travel, our community benefits culturally and economically.”
Three new markets for Frontier, including MCO’s 86th domestic market
Frontier also previously announced the addition of flights to Albuquerque, NM; Austin, TX; Birmingham, AL; San Antonio, TX; and Tulsa, OK beginning this month and new service to Des Moines, IA and Omaha, NE starting in June.
The airline has served MCO for more than 18 years. In its first year of operation it carried less than 100,000 passengers at MCO. Its growth over the last 4 years has been second to none, increasing by 829% from 392,465 to 3,645,917 annual passengers.
Frontier operates the Airbus A319 with 150 seats, A320 with 180 seats and A321 with 230 seats, all configured with both standard and stretch seating options. Starting in April 2018, the majority of Frontier’s flights at MCO will be operated with Airbus A321 aircraft.
