In November, 2,438,800 passengers took off and landed at Berlin's Schönefeld and Tegel airports. This represents a growth of 10.9 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. In November, 825,812 passengers were recorded at Schönefeld (+46.1 per cent) and 1,612,988 passengers at Tegel (-1.3 per cent).

Karsten Mühlenfeld, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: "The increasing passenger volume at Schönefeld is due in particular to the commitment of Ryanair, which opened its new base here at the end of October. We expect this growth to continue and will therefore set about implementing the necessary measures for expansion."

The number of flight movements in November amounted to a total of 22,232 take-offs and landings, which represents an increase of 8.6 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flight movements amounted to 7,489. This corresponds to an increase of 31.7 per cent compared to the previous year. At Tegel, the number of flight movements decreased (-0.3 per cent) compared to the previous year. A total of 14,743 flight movements were recorded at Tegel in November.

A total of 27,224,590 passengers used Schönefeld and Tegel airports from January to November, which represents an increase of 5.0 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.

At Tegel, 19,507,806 passengers were recorded from January to November, which is 1.6 per cent more than in the same period the previous year. Schönefeld Airport at the same time handled 7,716,784 passengers, which is 14.9 per cent more than in the comparison period in 2014.

The number of flight movements all together from January to November rose to a total of 239,755 take-offs and landings, which represents an increase of 2.5 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flight movements increased to 69,261. This corresponds to an increase of 6.5 per cent compared to the previous year. At Tegel there was an increase of 0.9 per cent compared to the previous year. A total of 170,494 flight movements were recorded at Tegel from January to November.

Air freight at Schönefeld and Tegel airports in November amounted to 3,922 tonnes, which represents an increase of 0.4 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.
