12-Oct-2012 International law firm Eversheds has advised Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline on a long term contract flying agreement between Flybe Finland and Finnair.

Under the terms of the agreement, Flybe Finland, Flybe's joint venture with Finnair, will fly 12 Embraer E190 regional jets for Finnair on a number of popular European short haul routes. The aircraft will carry the Finnair livery and operate under the Flybe Airline Operating Certificate.

The Eversheds team, led by Partner Tom Bridgford, advised Flybe on the long term commercial arrangements with Finnair.

Tom said; "This strategic agreement strengthens Flybe's position as a leading regional airline in the Nordic and Baltic regions taking the number of aircraft flown by Flybe Finland to 28, double the number when the business commenced operations in August 2011. We wish the venture the best of luck."

Mike Rutter, Managing Director of Flybe Europe, commented:

"When Flybe expanded into the Baltic and Nordic regions in 2011 we did so because we identified exciting opportunities for growth in a marketplace which suited our proven business model well. Today's announcement marks another significant step in that journey, increasing our presence in the region. Our longstanding legal adviser, Eversheds, led by Tom Bridgford on this deal, worked seamlessly with our team to deliver a great result."
