easyJet set for busiest day in its history this Easter

• Friday will see largest number of easyJet flights operated in a single day

easyJet, the UK's largest airline, is set for the busiest day in its history this Friday - as it operates over 1,400 flights for the first time.

The airline, founded in 1995, has a record breaking 1,406 flights scheduled for Friday 18 April as over 200,000 passengers jet off for their Easter holidays.

The schedule will see an easyJet aircraft take off or land on average every 1 minute throughout the day. The timetable will enable the airline to safely deliver their industry leading on time performance on the busiest day of the year so far.

The most popular destinations for passengers across Europe departing on 18 April are London, Geneva, Milan and Berlin. Around 120,000 passengers will travel on flights to and from the UK on this day. The most popular destination for Brits seeking Easter sun are Malaga, Alicante and Majorca.

easyJet's busiest day to date saw 1367 scheduled flights take off and land on 12 September 2013. easyJet now carries over 61 million passenger annually on a network spanning 689 routes and 34 countries.
