21-May-2013 The board of Christchurch International Airport has announced its Chief Executive, Jim Boult, will leave the company at the end of the year when his contract expires. He is not seeking a renewal of his contract.

"Jim says many of the things he came into the role to do, have now been done, and that it is an appropriate time to hand over to a successor", says airport company Chairman David Mackenzie.

"During his tenure as chief executive, Jim has successfully seen through the completion of the new terminals, overseen the complex business of aeronautical price setting and pushed ahead with the company's revenue diversification strategy" Mr Mackenzie says.

"We have appreciated Jim's contribution and judgment, particularly the managerial skills he has applied across the major projects he has overseen at the airport".

Mr Mackenzie also recorded the airport company's appreciation of the response Jim Boult and his management team had made to Canterbury's seismic activity of recent years and says the company's board wishes him well in his future endeavours.

The airport company has commissioned an executive search firm to assist it in finding a new chief executive and expects to announce an appointment in coming months.

The new chief executive will take up his or her role early in 2014.
