Chief Financial Officer appointment and complete formation of Executive Management Board

John Menzies plc, the global aviation services business, today announces the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer and the creation of an Executive Management Board. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Alvaro Gomez-Reino as Chief Financial Officer. Alvaro has significant financial experience gained through a career that has involved senior financial positions with Amey plc, Ferrovial and Swissport where he was Chief Financial Officer. His industry knowledge and sound financial background is an excellent addition to the senior team, and we look forward to his leadership of the global finance team.

Alvaro will take up his post and join the Board of Directors on 1 December 2019. We are also delighted to recognise the significant impact Mervyn Walker makes to our day to day operations and with immediate effect he is promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Mervyn is responsible for the delivery of our global operations and is tasked with ensuring we deliver a consistent, safe and secure service to our customers. The addition of Mervyn and Alvaro completes the senior leadership team. Following these appointments, we can confirm the creation of an Executive Management Board.

The Board will be chaired by Philipp Joeinig, Executive Chairman and will consist of Giles Wilson, Chief Executive, John Geddes, Corporate Affairs Director and Claire Hall, EVP People together with Alvaro Gomez-Reino and Mervyn Walker. The Executive Management Board will be responsible for the overall delivery of the Group's strategy and business performance. Its focus will be on bringing back a customer centric approach and becoming the provider of choice for our customers. The Board will concentrate on both organic and inorganic growth and stay focused on delivering safe, secure and consistent services for our customers. We will deliver this focus by developing the corporate culture to recruit and retain the best team and driving sustainable returns to deliver shareholder value.
