Changes to change/cancel & carry-on policies
How we travel is evolving and, as always, we're evolving what's included in our fares to let you choose what's most valuable to you, and provide peace of mind with flexibility and a better boarding experience. This includes: No change or cancel fees starting 4/1/21 for most fares.All fares booked through 3/31/21 will still enjoy no change or cancel fees. After that, changing or cancelling your plans will still be easy, with:
- No change or cancellation fees prior to day of travel for Blue, Blue Plus and Mint fares on all routes (fare difference applies). Same-day confirmed switches can be made for $75, without paying a fare difference.
- No change or cancellation fees (fare difference applies), and free same-day confirmed switches, for Blue Extra fares.
- Blue Basic fares can be changed or cancelled for a $100 fee for travel within the U.S., Caribbean, Mexico or Central America, or $200 for all other routes. Same-day confirmed switches can be made for a $75 fee (no fee for Mosaic members), without paying a fare difference.
Carry-on bags guaranteed for most fares starting 7/20/21.
For more certainty and speed (and less stress) while traveling, we're implementing a new carry-on bag policy, which guarantees overhead bin space to those traveling within the U.S. on Blue, Blue Extra and Mint fares or who booked an Even More Space seat-or you get a $25 Travel Bank credit.
- To make that happen, Blue Basic fares booked on or after 2/25/21 for travel 7/20/21 or later will only include a personal item that fits under the seat in front of you, but carry-on bags that go in the overhead bin will not be allowed.
- Mosaic members, travelers that are combining a Blue Basic fare with an Even More® Space seat, active military and unaccompanied minors may still bring a carry-on bag, but only Even More Space customers are guaranteed to get their bag onboard.
