CATHAY PACIFIC INCREASE CAPACITY INTO PERTH

Cathay Pacific is currently operating three flights a week on the Perth-Hong Kong route and from 6 December will increase this to a total of five services per week.

Perth Airport says the decision by Cathay Pacific to add more flights to Perth will enhance tourism, education, and trade opportunities for Western Australia.

Perth Airport Acting CEO Kate Holsgrove said that exports of fresh produce from Western Australia, business travellers, students, tourists and those visiting family and friends are key focus markets between Perth and Hong Kong.

Perth Airport is committed to supporting increased aviation capacity through existing airline partnerships as well as establishing new airline services.

"Cathay Pacific's increased services will bring an additional 58,240 seats into the Perth market.

"Cathay Pacific has excellent connections throughout North Asia including mainland China, South Korea and Japan, as well as options through to the USA and Canada offering Western Australians access to a range of travel destinations.

"Cargo capacity on commercial air services is crucial for local exporter and the additional services also provide more than 4,500 tonnes of additional cargo capacity between Perth and Hong Kong/North Asia.

"This is another significant step forward in WA's international aviation recovery, said Ms Holsgrove.

From 6 December 2023, CX171 will operate on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It departs from Hong Kong at 15:15 and arrives in Perth at 22:50.

-CX170 will operate on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It departs from Perth at 00:10 and arrives in Hong Kong at 07:40.

Using an Airbus A350-900 which has a total of 280 seats including 38 Business Class (flat-bed) seats, 28 Premium Economy Class seats and 214 Economy Class seats, offering passengers the latest in in-flight entertainment and a superior cabin experience.
