Carry-on luggageHand luggage restrictions within the scope of Covid-19:

In accordance with the regulations within the scope of the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak, carry-on luggage is prohibited in the cabin on all of our flights. The following items might be taken as carry-on luggage on to the flight:

Laptop bag
Small Handbag
Document folder
Baby related items

Anything else must be checked in with the travel luggage. Therefore it is possible to check in an additional piece of hand luggage weighing up to 4 kg free of charge for these flights.

Cabin baggage which exceeds the permitted dimensions and weight at the check-up at the gate prior to boarding, can either be refused or transported in the hold of the aircraft against payment, depending on the airport of departure.

Larger items must be checked in with the passenger's baggage. It is not allowed to carry sharp and pointed objects (e.g. jack-knives, nail scissors, knitting needles, etc.) in carry-on pieces. Should such items be confiscated during the security check of carry-on items, it is usually not possible anymore to check in items as hold baggage. Passengers must then do without these items. Important documents, valuable items and medications should not be transported in check-in baggage, but only in carry-on pieces.

SunExpress regulations for carry-on luggage, e.g. liquids

The amount of liquids permitted on carry-on luggage accepted inside the cabin has been regulated by local and international civil aviation authorities. The regulations which are currently applied at all international flights, will be applicable at İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen based domestic flights as of 1st March 2012 and all other domestic destinations as of 1st April 2012 are summarized below.

Liquids or comparable products of similar consistency (this includes gels, sprays, shampoos, lotions, creams, toothpaste, for example) may only be carried in small quantities, packaged in small individual containers.
Permitted are containers up to 100 ml that are transported in a transparent and resealable plastic bag with a maximum capacity of one liter. This plastic bag may contain any number of containers but must close completely.
One such bag per passenger is allowed.
At the control points it must be taken out of the carry-on baggage to be passed separately through the x-ray machine.

It is highly recommended that passengers purchase such bags in good time and that they pack at home those liquids and comparable products they intend to transport in their carry-on luggage.

Exceptions

Duty-free items that passengers have bought on the day of their flight in a shop after having passed the boarding pass control point at an EU airport or on board an aircraft operated by an EU carrier may be taken by the passenger through the security control if they are packaged in a transparent bag that has been sealed by the shop's personnel. The bag must contain a receipt that can be read from outside, stating the date and place of the sale on the same day. The bag has to remain closed and sealed to the end of the last flight segment.

Medications and special foods (e.g. baby formula) that will be needed during the flight can be carried outside of the plastic bag. At the control points, passengers need to present such items separately from their carry-on luggage and plausibly explain why they need these items.
