Cambodia Airports welcomed more than 3.7 million passengers for January-August 2014

From January to August 2014, Cambodia Airports handled more than 3.7 million passengers and nearly 43,000 flights movements, an increase of 11.9% and 12.3% respectively compared to the same period of 2013.

Passenger traffic at Preah Sihanouk International Airport experienced a significant growth at 138.2% to 26,356 passengers from January to August 2014.

Total cargo import and export tonnage also rose by 5.6% year-on-year.

Passengers

In August 2014, Phnom Penh International Airport welcomed more than 222,300 passengers while Siem Reap International Airport received more than 240,500 passengers, growing 13.2% and 19.3% respectively year-on-year. Both airports, the main hubs of the country, handled more than 462,800 local and international passengers, representing a 17.5% increase.
Flights Movements

The international flights movements for Phnom Penh increased by 4.1% while Siem Reap increased by 21.0% compared to August last year.
Cargo

Import and export tonnage in Phnom Penh Cargo Terminal decreased by 7.3%, while Siem Reap Airport Cargo Terminal decreased by 17.1%, year-on-year.
